career OVERVIEW
CNN
INTERNATIONAL

DESIGN DIRECTOR
1997-2013
Because I was graduating with degrees in Spanish and Visual Communications, I was the perfect candidate to be a graphic designer at the soon-to-be launched network CNN en Español.
I worked my way up from daily graphics production to the marketing and promotions department, and spent more than twelve years helping to manage the graphics department that provided all design services to CNN International and CNN en Español. There I helped oversee the look and feel of the television network, including day to day program graphics, set design, and more.
THE
WEATHER CHANNEL

CREATIVE DIRECTOR, DESIGN
2013-2015
I was responsible for the look and feel of the television network, including day-to-day program graphics, set design, weather maps and other meteorological products.
I structured, managed, and mentored our talented creative team ensuring that they were motivated to work hard, collaborate with one another, and create great things.
I was also heavily involved in art directing the look and feel of the TWC marketing and promotion efforts.
PRO-BONO CREATIVE SERVICES

After 19 years working full-time in the corporate world, I focused my career on giving back to our community through volunteer leadership roles at our local public schools.
I served on the executive board of Fernbank Elementary's PTA for three years. During that time, I completely overhauled the school's communications and marketing. I created a new logo, built a new website, reimagined the online weekly news bulletin, designed t-shirts, printed signage, marketing materials, and much more. From a leadership standpoint, I served as PTA co-president in 2018-19 and helped develop and execute an annual two-week capital campaign for the Fernbank Elementary Foundation, surpassing the fundraising goal each year.
Similarly, I created a new parent website for Druid Hills Middle School, and helped develop a new fundraising strategy for the school's Enrichment Fund.
